According to a report from KIRO News Director Frank Lenzi, the iconic toy giant is landing inside Vancouver Mall. While an exact ribbon-cutting date hasn’t been set in stone, store doors are expected to open in October…just in time for holiday shopping chaos!

It has been a long, toy-less road since 2017, when the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and systematically closed its brick-and-mortar storefronts nationwide by 2018. For years, the closest thing parents had to a physical store was a modest branded footprint tucked inside Macy’s locations.
Now, the parent company, WHP Global, has teamed up with Go! Retail Group to execute a massive 120-store standalone nationwide expansion.
Washington is getting a major piece of that action. Beyond the upcoming footprint at Vancouver Mall, store openings are planned for South Hill Mall in Puyallup and The Outlet Collection Seattle in Auburn.
What to Expect at the Vancouver Mall Store
While the original 1990s-era stores were sprawling warehouse behemoths packed to the rafters, this new generation of retail takes a sleeker, store-within-a-mall approach.
- Curated Hot-Ticket Items: Expect hands-on displays, hot holiday trends, and heavy hitters like LEGO, Pokémon, Barbie, and Hot Wheels.
- Seasonal Plus Potential Staying Power: While many of these locations rollout as seasonal operations through the holidays, select stores across the state (like the Puyallup location) have locked in leases for at least a year. Representatives from Go! Retail Group have indicated a strong desire to keep these Washington doors open long past the holiday rush if local support stays strong.
